The primary focus of my research program is self-regulation. I work from an integrative model of self-regulation that brings executive functioning, temperament, personality, and social-cognitive processing to bear on questions about the role of self-regulation in behavior. Recent and ongoing projects have focused on a range of behaviors, including adaptive behaviors such as exercise and forgiveness and maladaptive behaviors such as overeating and substance use.
